º  Danfoss has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the UK building controls specialist Cylon Controls under which Danfoss’ high-efficiency VLT HVAC drives will be integrated into Cylon’s UnitronUC32 building energy management system. Cylon will also sell the VLT HVAC drive through its network of 80 approved system integrators.

 

º  PCB Piezotronics, the US manufacturer of torque, force, strain, vibration and other sensors and instruments, has set up a UK sales office in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The managing director is Graham Turgoose, who has been PCB’s European manager for the past six years.

 

º  ABB is sponsoring a new research chair in process automation at Imperial College in London. Professor Nina Thornhill, who will take up the post in May, will lead a five-year research programme aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency in the process and power generation industries.
