Machine control tool needs no C

The Dutch motion control specialist Nyquist has developed a machine control tool and command language that it claims can cut machine design times for OEM machine builders. Users of NYCeTalk can develop complete machine control applications without writing a line of C code.

Applications are entered using simple commands, such as MoveRobot, avoiding the need for complex compiling and linking. NyCeTalk provides instant Human Machine Interfaces, and can monitor and debug jobs as they are being executed.

The tool allows users to define and control complete machines from a single point-of-view and offers high-level commands that that can control machines with several "mechanisms", each containing a set of servo axes and I/O configurations. Elements of the software can be re-used, saving more time.

Commands are provided for controlling single, multiple and kinematically coupled axes. Trajectories can be generated with three or six degrees of freedom, allowing lines and circles to be created in 3D space.
