IEE will present free seminars

The publisher of Drives & Controls, DFA Media, is joining forces with the IEE to present free seminars at next May`s engineering mega-event at the Birmingham NEC. The IEE (soon to become the IET) is organising the seminars on Part P of the Building Regulations as part of the Electrex electrical exhibition that will run alongside the Drives & Controls Show from 16-18 May, 2006.

The seminars are one element in a full programme of educational and training events that will run in parallel with the exhibitions. A centrepiece will be a major three-day conference on European electrical and electronic directives, called NEEDS - the National Electrical and Electronics Directives Show.

NEEDS will provide practical workshops presented by experts on almost every key Directive, including WEEE, RoHS, ATEX, the Machinery Safety Directive and the Physical Agents Directive.

Plans are also being drawn up for authoritative conferences on industrial safety and communications.

DFA is also joining forces with Profibus International to present seminars on this widely-used communications technology. These seminars will focus on developments such as real-time motion control and safety applications, and will include details of practical applications.

The precise formats for the various conferences and seminars are still being finalised.
