Schaeffler steps out of the shadows

INA Bearing Company, which sells INA and FAG products in the UK, has adopted the name of its German parent company to become Schaeffler (UK). The renaming marks the final phase of the integration of FAG, which INA bought in 2001.

"Previously the Schhaeffler Group ownership of INA remained very much in the background," explains Kate Hartigan, Schaeffler (UK)`s managing director. "However, we believe that a closer and more visible association with the Schaeffler Group will underpin our competitiveness, both in the UK marketplace, and also with our trading partners worldwide.

"The renaming of the company also enables us to position INA and FAG as distinct product brands, separate from any corporate entity," she adds.
