Weidmüller buys W Interconnections from Rockwell
Published:  04 October, 2017

The German connectivity and automation manufacturer, Weidmüller, has bought Rockwell Automation’s W Interconnections group, which operates in the US, Canada and Mexico, with effect from 1 October, 2017. The group sells products for industrial connectivity and automation. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or contractual details.

The acquisition will strengthen Weidmüller’s global presence and its proximity to customers in the Nafta (North American Free Trade Agreement) region. It also supports Weidmüller’s growth strategy in industrial connectivity, communications and digitalisation, and reflects its long-term commitment to the Nafta market.

Weidmüller will continue to operate the W Interconnections business from its existing sites in Richmond in the US, Toronto in Canada and Puebla in Mexico. W Interconnections offers active and passive interface modules for industrial automation and control applications, including PCB terminals, terminations, enclosures, and related accessories.
