Published:  20 November, 2015

The Northern Ireland drives, motors and gears supplier JJ Loughran, is investing £2.2m to expand into new industry sectors and regions across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The investment – including a £281,090 contribution from Invest Northern Ireland – is expected to create 37 new jobs at the company’s Cookstown, County Tyrone, headquarters over the coming three years.

The company, which has recruited nine of these positions already, is investing in new equipment, marketing and personnel to boost its competitiveness in expanding industry sectors such as agri-food, renewables and pharmaceuticals.

“We want to continue to grow our market share in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland,” explains joint managing director, Kevin Loughran. “We will be introducing innovative production and repair methods as part of efforts to boost our competitiveness and add value to our service offering.

“Working with Invest NI has enabled us to implement a strategic approach to business growth,” he adds. The Invest NI grant will be used to help with recruitment, market development and capital investment costs.
