Flir claims that the camera’s uncooled infrared detector offers twice the sensitivity of the industry standard for uncooled sensors. The high resolution is boosted by a vision-processing function that combines Flir’s UltraMax super-resolution process with its patented MSX image-enhancement software, which overlays visual details and perspective – such as numbers and labels – on the thermal image.
“With the T1K, Flir has once again raised the bar in the premium thermography segment,” says the company’s president and CEO, Andy Teich. “Making that happen required designing a line of truly superb, high-definition optics and developing our most precise temperature sensors ever.”
The precision optics allows accurate temperature measurements to be made from twice as far away as when using standard lenses. A new focusing system provides continuous autofocus as well as dynamic manual focus.
