Emerson announces new president for Control Techniques
Published:  10 June, 2015

Emerson has appointed Scott Anderson as the next president of its Control Techniques drives business, succeeding Enrique Minarro Viseras who has occupied the post since 2012.

Anderson brings 32 years of experience at Emerson, most recently in Emerson Process Management, where he spent 14 years as president of Rosemount Flow and two years establishing the lifecycle services organisation for Emerson Process’ Flow Measurement group. Before that, he worked in Emerson Industrial Automation for 17 years in sales and marketing positions.

Anderson’s plans to expand Control Techniques include an increased focus on expanding its global presence. He has set a long-term goal of establishing "a more balanced geographic spread for our businesses, including strengthening our presence in the Americas and Asia. By broadening our portfolio of next-generation products and communicating the benefits of our solutions, we will build long-term loyal customers.

“Control Techniques has a strong, established reputation within the markets it serves and we want to continue building on that,” he continues. “The business can also benefit from the range of experience and expertise it gains through being part of Industrial Automation and Emerson, and it is vital we highlight the added value this brings to our customers.

“Our customers value the technology and innovation created over the past 40 years,” he adds, “and we must continue to show that desire to serve our customer’s most demanding applications.”

Anderson: aiming for a more balanced geographic spread

Anderson will be based at Control Techniques’ headquarters in Newtown, Wales, where it employs around 650 people. A further 1,000 employees are based at 55 locations worldwide.

Control Techniques manufactures AC, servo and DC variable-speed drives, motors, and automation systems for commercial and industrial applications.
