Designed for high-speed pick-and-place applications with a 7kg payload, the robot can carry up to 10kg by limiting the movement of the fifth axis. It can be mounted on walls, ceilings or inclined supports, as well as on the floor.
When carrying a 7kg load, the robot has a cycle time of 0.702s. With a 1kg load, the cycle time is 0.62s. Its repeatability is claimed to be 0.05mm.
Comau’s E-motion software optimises the robot’s movements and increases its fluidity to cut cycle times by up to 25% compared to previous-generation robots. An energy reduction system is built in.
The 170kg robot retains the key features of its older brother, the Racer 7-1.4, that was introduced a year ago, but has a 30% higher stiffness. The two robots share the same teaching pendant and spare parts.
