The integrated drive, available in ratings from 1.5–4kW (1,500/3,000 rpm), is aimed at both variable and constant torque applications, and delivers a high starting torque. It can withstand a 150% overload for up to a minute.
Yaskawa says that the motor is up to 40% smaller than comparable IE4 motors, allowing machines to be smaller and lighter. The drive incorporates PLC and safety (STO) functions as well as an EMC filter. There are six digital and two analogue inputs, and one relay and one analogue output, as well as a pulse output.
The drive supports various communications protocols including EtherCat, CANopen, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP, CC-Link, Ethernet/IP, Powerlink, Profibus, Profinet and Yaskawa’s own Mechatrolink. The drive is protected to IP65 and the motor to IP55.
