Tracoinsa’s existing directors will stay with the company while a structured management transition takes place over the coming two years.
Until now, the Expert Group has bought in materials-handling systems from other companies to incorporate in the turnkey production systems that it supplies to the automotive, aerospace and transport sectors.
“This acquisition allows us control and reduce our dependency on outsourcing,” says managing director, Angelo Luciano, “as well as enhancing the portfolio of products we can offer to other engineering companies, thereby adding another string to our bow.
“Tracoinsa, which employs around 20 staff, will also benefit from being a part of a large group of business with strong engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and project management to support its future development and growth,” he adds. “We hope to build on Tracoinsa’s excellent reputation for reliable, high-quality material-handling systems as we strengthen our position as a global supplier of tooling and automation systems.”
Tracoinsa System UK was formed in 1995 as the UK division of Transportes Continuous Interiores – a Spanish multinational specialising in the design, manufacture and assembly of materials-handling and process equipment. In 2004, it moved to a new purpose-built factory in Widnes.
In 2006, Tracoinsa System UK’s management team bought the company from its parent, making it one of a handful of independent, UK-based suppliers of conveyors to the automotive sector, with its own UK manufacturing and testing facilities.
