Interactive panel-building centre aims to save time

09 March, 2010

RS Components has launched an interactive online resource designed to help save time and money in panel- or machine-building projects by bringing together all of the relevant products and services in a way that matches users’ needs.

At the heart of the new Panel Building Centre is an interactive virtual control panel (shown above) where users can click on glowing red circles to view information on a wide range of panel-building technologies. These include variable speed drives, PLCs, HMIs, soft-starts, power supplies, circuit protection, timers and relays, contactors and controlgear, safety relays and controllers, signal conditioners, DIN-rail terminals, panel meters, pushbuttons and indicators, isolators and fused disconnectors, enclosures and emergency stop switches.

Tabs across the top of the site bring up information on the design, selection, purchasing, construction and installation phases of panel- or machine-building projects, and provide information on the services that RS offers.

Links are also provided to technology centres focusing on sensors, logic control, PLCs, networking and servo control, and to other sections including machine safety, ATEX and hazardous areas, energy management and ingress protection.

RS claims to have 200,000 panel and machine building products available for next-day delivery, and a further 100,000 items available on five-to-ten day delivery. The brands it supplies include Schneider Electric, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Bosch, Pilz and Rockwell Automation.

The new Panel Building Centre is part of the Industries & Solutions section of RS’s Process and Automation Centre.
